A Blessing in Disguise

Some times the things we are dealt, which at the time we deem bad, can actually be a huge blessing in disguise...As I recently just experienced first hand.

“It’s not who you are that holds you back. It’s who you think you’re not.” ~Unknown

For the past few years I have been stuck in a job that didn’t feel like It had much purpose or meaning deep within me other than to just pay my bills and get me through each week. I knew in me hiding behind the fear, was my true passion….
It felt like day by day, I pressed forward like a steel freight train on a mission hoping I would eventually find my happiness.

“Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be.” ~George Sheehan

Finally something unexpected happened to me, I lost my job. Why?! Economic crisis could be to blame or as I like to think the right push and shove (from ‘the universe’ ) which I needed, finally it was handed to me on a silver platter.
I could have looked at it two ways, damn this is the second time this has happened to me in my young 26yrs of life, this is not fair, why, how am I ever going to … what will I do… !?
Or I could choose to look at it in a positive way and give this situation my  110% to follow wherever my heart tells me to go from here…

“Don’t let today’s disappointments cast a shadow on tomorrow’s dreams.” ~Unknown

One of the most difficult parts of setting out to reach your dreams, goals or making a positive change is pushing through the intital discomfort stage. This is where a lot of people give up—when the process starts to get hard and you start to have all kinds of challenging feelings.
Maybe your drive is strong enough to fight the emotional hurdles without flinching; but chances are you’re familiar with that annoying inner voice that starts to say, “Go back. It’s too hard. It’s not worth it.” The day you choice to give up, could be a few day off succeeding...

When life gives you a lemon & knocks you down...

Sometimes life can’t get any BETTER, you’re on TOP OF THE WORLD, smiling from ear to ear, everything falls into place and it feels like we are becoming INVINCIBLE!!! It’s an awesome feeling to be high on life like that, moments and times of peak happiness! This is how I was feeling leading up to my little incident…Then comes the other times which can be very much less pleasant, sometimes even agonising...nothing seems to go right. We want to burst out in tears, come up with irrational ideas and sometimes completely abandon all hope and faith…this was my monday night whilst training at the gym, BANG, SNAP, CRACKLE POP… goes my ankle!

Life throws a lot of sh*t things at us and sometimes it’s not as easy as seems to just roll with the punches. Sometimes we can pick ourselves up no problem and move forward.. Other days it’s just not that simple.
'Think of yourself as a toy train. All toy trains de-rail now and then. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back on track'. - unknown

We cant control everything that happens in the world…but what we can change, is how you feel about those things. Even if things are really bad, you can still be happy, you can still choose to smile, and you can choose to see it as a TEST, A LESSON that you have to get through for things to get better, improve or just simply teach us something.
Time is continuous and never stops, just as good things come and go, bad things will also come and go. So like me you got slapped in the face, you made some mistakes, things didn’t go the way you wanted them to go. Yeh It sucks. Sometimes it really sucks... But don’t let it keep you down!
Remember every day is a new one that is full of new possibilities and opportunities. Did you think, that the last thing that made you feel down was never going to end or go away… well did it? Yes! It did, and I bet you were you ok??? -  “This too shall pass.” - Eckhart Tolle

When I woke up this morning, I decided no more down in the dumps, I will get up and do whatever it takes to get back to that mountain I was so effortlessly climbing… I want to encourage you to do the same too, to keep going strong and keep looking at your goals and your results to stay focused on the path you were so brilliantly following before this little stumble, road block, snapped ankle, got in the way…always remember too that somewhere out there, there is someone far worse off than you..put into perspective how bad your situation or problem really is….
We have to make sure when we leave the house in the morning, to start the BRAND NEW day…we do it with a positive attitude and prepare ourselves mentally for all of the things that may try knock us off track..

“When life knocks you down you have two choices- stay down or get up.” - Tom Krause

Over time I have become a very true believer, that all things happen for a reason and that they happen exactly the way they are supposed to, when they are meant to. Guess remembering that helps remove the frustrating question of “why is this happening to me?” the question, that honestly, never really can be answered…

“Life will knock you to your knees and keep you there…if you let it.” –Rocky Balboa

When you get knocked down, you not only have to get back up again…
You need to learn from it and just be stronger next time around.
Try to look at the SUNNY (positive) side of every situation or lesson.
Think only the BEST thoughts, work only for the BEST, and expect only the BEST.
Forget the mistakes of your past and focus on the greater ACHIEVEMENTS of your coming future. You cant change yesterday but you can definitely create today and tomorrow.
LIVE and BELIEVE that the whole world is on your side as long as you are living as the best person you can be. Life kicks you around sometimes. It knocks you down and it beats you up….
Remember we arent just survivors trudging through life, we are fighters and we are tougher than anything life throws our way…!

be less afraid and let go of useless doubts...

“We must never assume that which is incapable of proof” -unknown
........You can never truly know someone else’s intentions.
When you have no proof, it’s a judgment call, you have a choice to either assume the best, feel good and grateful; or assume the worst and feel bad and suspicious.
“Make finding the good in others a priority.” -zig ziglar

I often doubt my instincts especially when I meet someone new, we all do it or have done it… I think I know what I want or how I should feel, act…but my mind decides to split and take sides, creating a continuous nagging sense of internal conflict over what I actually want or should do.
But as I go along, I slowly learn there really isn’t such a thing as wrong.. Every event, person, life experience has come for a reason and for us to learn a lesson of some description… we just need to simply ENJOY the ride and be less afraid...
“knowing that the net may not always be there, but the fall will never be far enough to do any lasting damage.” –tiny buddah

Relationships aren't supposed to be hard, but we, as women, tend to overanalyze, be over-emotional, and make things complicated when they should be simple. We need to take lessons from other species.
The female animals are always pursued by the male of the species. That's how it's supposed to be. That's how the male mind works. They try to get what they want. So let them do all the work and you'll reap all the benefits!

Some quotes Id like to leave you with…

  • Everyone makes mistakes. Forgive yourself as easily as you’d forgive someone else.
  • You have no control over who loves you. You have every bit of control over whom you love.
  • Today if you doubt yourself, remember: You are far more powerful than you think. You just need to believe it!!!

It doesn't matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M
Just put your paws up
'Cause you were born this way, baby

My mama told me when I was young
We're all born superstars
She rolled my hair, put my lipstick on
In the glass of her boudoir

"There's nothin' wrong with lovin' who you are"
She said, "'Cause He made you perfect, babe"
"So hold your head up, girl and you'll go far,
Listen to me when I say"

I'm beautiful in my way,
'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Don't hide yourself in regret,
Just love yourself and you're set
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way
(Born this way)

Ooo, there ain't no other way
Baby, I was born this way
Baby, I was born this way
(Born this way)
Ooo, there ain't other way
Baby, I was born this way
Right track, baby
I was born this way

Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Don't be!

Give yourself prudence and love your friends
Subway kid, rejoice the truth
In the religion of the insecure
I must be myself, respect my youth

A different lover is not a sin
Believe capital H-I-M (hey, hey, hey)
I love my life, I love this record and
Mi amore vole fe yah

I'm beautiful in my way,
'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Don't hide yourself in regret,
Just love yourself and you're set
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Ooo, there ain't no other way

Baby, I was born this way
Baby, I was born this way
(Born this way )
Ooo, there ain't other way
Baby, I was born way
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way

( Queen , Don't be , Queen )
Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Whether you're broke or evergreen
You're black, white, beige, chola descent
You're lebanese, you're orient
Whether life's disabilities
Left you outcast, bullied or teased
Rejoice and love yourself today
'Cause baby, you were born this way

No matter gay, straight or bi
lesbian, transgendered life
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born to survive
No matter black, white or beige
chola or orient made
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born to be brave

I'm beautiful in my way
'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Don't hide yourself in regret,
Just love yourself and you're set
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way, yeah!

Ooo, there ain't no other way

Daily Affirmations & Powerful Thoughts

Hi all my lovelies,
Happy new week...Monday.. forget about what happened, was said or done yesterday...Today is a brand new, fresh start..! Everyday is a gift, remember you are the one who's in control.......how exciting!!!
The benefit of being positive is something we are hearing about constantly... 'Be positive', 'stay positive', 'you need to have a positive attitude', who's heard 1 or more of these phrases..these phrases are everywhere. But what does it actually mean to be positive...
Today I want to share with you some of my favorite affirmations..
Filling your mind with positive thoughts is just as important as filling your body with nutritious healthy foods.
Firstly for those who don't know what they are or never use them...A positive affirmation (always positive) can lift your life and help you achieve your goals..Use them whenever you desire change, or just a general pick me up.

A beautiful positive affirmation sends a message to the universe, the universe listens and responds in positive manifestations of your desires, dreams, wishes.. etc
Saying affirmations daily will make you feel more balanced, inspired and remind you to keep on track to your goals, never give up.
Keep a notebook of your favourite ones beside your bed...choose one at random, or select as per needed.
As you fall asleep at night repeat your affirmation to yourself, then place under your pillow or next to your bed. Then read it again when you wake, make it the first thing you do...this is a powerful way of reinforcing your affirmations...also write them in your diary, on a post-it note..stick them everywhere, (back of your front door, bathroom mirror, car...) anywhere you will see them..

: Choosing a suitable affirmation and some little guidelines..

  • Choose a quote (affirmation) that best describes what you desire, try to keep it short and powerful! Focus on one key element at a time, without the clutter of too many desires all at once.
  • Quote must be in present tense, eg. 'I am successful and passionate', rather than 'I will be successful and passionate'
  • Your affirmation must always be positive... not stating your feelings of dislike.. but saying it as if you believe it and already have it.  Believe without fear that your desire will come true. Know that you truly deserve what you are asking for....
  • The Universe does not acknowledge words such as "not" or "don't". So, instead of saying "I am not poor" (the Universe will only hear "I am poor"), say "I have enough money for all that I need".
  • Affirmation should always should state 'I' .. the quote is always about you.. You cant use a affirmation about another person because you can only affect your own reality. Happiness comes from within you.
  • You must be prepared to free yourself from your limiting insecurities and judgements and replace them with beliefs that you have unlimited potential.
  • Repetition is the key...
As Miranda Kerr writes in her book, Power thoughts (affirmations/quotes) are like planting a seed. If you were going to plant your heart what would grow? The positive thought or desire may not necessarily be true right then but it is something that you would like to be true. Finding the courage to plant the seed creates miracles. You may not see all the benefits on the first day but as you use them consistently the inner you will get into shape.

Having a positive attitude allows you to be more confident, feel uplifted and also look for the best in every bad/good situation you're confronted with.

"Be Great, Powerful Beyond Measure"

Somewhere along the line, you changed...
You stopped being you.
You let people stick their finger in your face and tell you your no good.
And when things got hard you started looking for something to blame.
Like a big shadow.

Let me tell you something you already know… The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows.
It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.

You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!

Cause if you're willing to go through all the battling you got to go through to get where you want to get, who's got the right to stop you? I mean maybe some of you guys got something you never finished, something you really want to do, something you never said to someone, something... and you're told no, even after you paid your dues? Who's got the right to tell you that, who? Nobody! It's your right to listen to your gut, it ain't nobody's right to say no after you earned the right to be where you want to be and do what you want to do!...

Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain't you! You're better than that!

My wish wall....your dream board.

We all want that amazing car, perfect body, dream house....so how do we get it you ask...
You have got to design & create yourself a vision board, a dream board or what I like to call mine "my wish wall”…  dream(create), believe and receive…
Over a year or two ago, a girlfriend of mine gave me an audio copy of a world wide phenomenon “The Secret”…Amazing.. It was honestly life changing..(any of my friends reading this who want a copy, just ask me..)
It helped me open my narrow eyes, gave me inspiration and drive to strive to be the best person I could possibly be.
This audio, which also comes in book form, had me creating my first “wish wall” (vision/dream board).
**A vision board is a wall in my case or cork board with a collection of images and words that you want to have, do or become in your life. It is a visual version of your goals.

This YouTube video, a favorite of mine, showing you a powerful vision board in action..
John Assaraf, a millionaire who used a vision board to create the life that he now lives..

I really believe in the power of law of attraction & visualization…so having a dreamboard somewhere that you see every day, keeps you motivated and focused on your dream … It reminds you to never give up on what you want "because it seems to hard or unreachable". NOTHING IS TO HARD!
We all have dreams and desires to have that fantastic body, car, house, partner, wedding…etc.
So this is a place where you put the words and pictures you collect from magazines etc, to empower you and remind you of what you are wanting to achieve.

All these dream boards, mission statements, mottos; are worthless unless you really believe that you can have them, and more importantly following through with them.
Visualizing what you want is important… but the jump from the visual to the material will never happen unless you are COMMITTED to hard, honest, never give up no matter what, work. Nothing worth having is ever easy to get, remember that!

PASSION, MOTIVATION and DETERMINATION will get you anything you want in this life.

I know you are probably all curious to see what my "wish wall" is like…So here is a photograph of my wish wall, which I update all the time..(its a little over due and update)
It has pictures of who I want to be, the type of man I want, body, car, money, house etc..
Hope this gives you inspiration to create your own…
Love & happiness, rebecca.n

The Four Principles..

How was everyone's weekend, did you make someone laugh, smile…do something good for yourself??
I had a fantastic and busy weekend, but some parts of it were once again a test of my patience and positive attitude of not allowing other peoples negative words and nasty doings take effect on me… I thought this wonderful email sent to me was really quite appropriate….
***Break ups are never easy, especially when you are the one who is wanting to move on…(as they say, the heart never breaks even).
But lets try to remember that EVERYONE you meet is for reason, whether you can see that reason clearly or not at the time… and lets know when its OVER, to take the lesson you have learnt and move forward…
Wishing you a beautiful start to a new week...Love & happiness, rebecca.n

India teaches us about:
"The Four Principles of Spirituality"

The First principle states:
"Whomsoever you encounter is the right one"
This means that no one comes into our life by chance..!
Everyone who is around us, anyone whom we interact, represents something, whether to teach us something or to help us improve our current situation.

The Second Principle states:
"Whatever happened is the only thing that could have happened"
Nothing, absolutely nothing of that which we experience could have been any other way. Not even in the least important detail..
There is no "If only I had done that differently…then it would have been different.." No. What happened is the only thing that could have taken place and must have taken place for us to learn our lesson in order to move forward.
Every single situation in life which we encounter is absolutely perfect,
even when it defies our understanding and our ego.

The Third Principle states:
"Each moment in which something begins is the right moment"
Everything begins at exactly the right moment, neither earlier nor later. When we are ready for it, for that something new in our life, it is there, ready to begin.

This is the Fourth Principle, the final one:
"What is over, is over"
It is that simple. When something in our life ends, it helps our evolution.
That is why, enriched by recent experience, it is better to let go and move on.

It is no coincidence that you're here reading this.
If these words strike a chord, its because you meet the requirements and understand that not one single snowflake falls accidentally in the wrong place!

Be good to yourself.
Love with your whole being.
Always be happy.

nothing is by chance...

HAPPY FRIDAY beautiful people...
Something happened to me this morning which caught me off guard, could have totally ruined my happy friday...but I rose above it...WHY, because we all have to remember no matter what people say to try and harm you or cause negative effect on you, you gotta rise above it!
In 5yrs time will these people even matter to you, they will no longer exist in your world, choose to surround yourself with those who amplify your brilliance...
Everything in our life is given to us not by chance but by reason.. to LEARN, GROW and become the STRONG person we are meant to be on this earth... to succeed and become the person we want to be.

Today I want to share with you this beautiful, strong story; one which is from a favourite book of mine which I refer to often, (also kept by my bedside) If you are yet to read MIRANDA KERR's - 'Treasure yourself'

http://www.koraorganics.com/products/treasure-yourself

Go out and by yourself a copy, this book is a step in the direction to a really positive, happy & healthy life.
This book I have purchased for all my favourite people and best friends, so they too can experience the joy it brings..

It was the early blossoming of spring and a girl was wandering through a garden when she discovered a cocoon hanging from the branch of a tree. It was almost time for a butterfly to emerge. Fascinated with her discovery she returned to the garden daily, enthusiastic to see all that would happen and hoping never to miss a thing.
One day a small opening appeared and the girl saw the butterfly struggling to free itself from its cocoon and enter a new world.
She watched intently - until the butterfly seemed to have stopped making progress. It appeared as if it had gone as far as possible and could go no further.
The girl made a sudden decision; she began to remove the pieces of the cocoon that were obstructing the butterfly.
Excited she watched as the butterfly emerged, hoping its wings would unfold. But her excitement turned into dismay as the butterfly remained unable to move.
It was then that the girl realised what was happening the cocoon was intended to create the struggle necessary for the butterfly to fly. In fact, it was not trying to escape.. this was just natures way of making its  wings stronger.
It occurred to the girl that the butterfly would actually be grateful to the cocoon for the struggle that they would share.  - Anonymous
